WoT Search
This WoT Search opened for the public on October 1, 2001. It lets you put in a search word or phrase, then wotmania cranks through the text of WoT. After the search is over, wotmania shows you (book by book) which chapters your word or phrase appeared in. Should be a handy tool for those of you looking to research a particular topic in WoT and don't want to search through the books chapter by chapter looking for a particular quote...

Search
Put the word or phrase you want to search for in the box below and hit the submit your form. You will be taken to a new page where you can see the results of your search.

Search Tips
This search feature looks for a match to the search string you enter. It is not case sensitive, nor is at as sophisticated as something like Google... If you search for "Min" it will call it a match if it finds the word "minute" in a given chapter... Think about what you're searching for, and use a longer word or something more unique if possible...

What Does This Search?
At this moment the WoT Search looks through the following text to find matches to your keyword:

  • The Eye of the World, Full Text
  • The Great Hunt, Full Text
  • The Dragon Reborn, Full Text
  • The Shadow Rising, Full Text
  • The Fires of Heaven, Full Text
  • Lord of Chaos, Full Text
  • A Crown of Swords, Full Text
  • The Path of Daggers, Full Text
  • Winter's Heart, Full Text
I plan on adding the rest of WoT to the WoT Search as quickly as possible... This feature opened on October 1, 2001 with the first three books included in the search. My goal is to have the rest of the series in the database within a few weeks.

How Does It Work?
In late September I fell asleep next to this strange looking stone. It had all sorts of funny markings on it, but I didn't think much of it... Seemed like as good a place as any... I woke up the next morning in what seemed to be the same place, but I soon realized it must be an alternate version of our own reality. It was very different from the world we live in - everyone used their turn signals when driving, for instance... While wandering around this strange dimension I found a box laying on the ground that had a label on it reading "Super Top Secret Ter'angreal: Do Not Open." Of course, I opened it and realized immediately just what I had (I must have a Talent for that, or something) - the WoT Search utility. Having found such a prize, I decided it was time to go home. It seemed like the best way to get home would probably be to just fall asleep next to that strange stone again, so that's what I did. I woke up back in our world (I knew this for certain when I saw people driving around without using turn signals) and plugged my top secret ter'angreal into Hawkwing. Now, thanks to the wonders of a snazzy ter'angreal wotmania has the WoT Search.

In case you haven't figured it how from the above story, I'm probably not going to share how it really works...
