If I had told Mother I think you are handsome, she certainly would have had you locked in a cell.

Morgase Trakand

Morgase Trakand was one of the strongest queens Andor had ever known. She rose to the throne after the Third Andoran War for Succession, gaining the support of the strongest Houses in Andor as the closest blood relative to the last Daughter-Heir, Tigraine. To solidify her claim, she married Tigraine’s husband Taringail. It was Taringail who fathered her two children, Elayne and Gawyn. Morgase also adopted Taringail’s other son, Galad.

Morgase proved herself to be an efficient and strong ruler, earning the love and respect of her people. After Taringail’s death, Morgase took on Thom Merrilin as her lover. He left Andor unexpectedly, and Morgase’s notorious temper prevented him from ever returning. Morgase also took on as a lover Gareth Bryne, the Captain-General of the Queen’s Guard. He was eventually exiled, though, when a new lord named Gaebril apparently won Morgase’s affections. Unknown to all, Gaebril was actually Rahvin ruling Andor with Morgase as a figurehead.

It is believed by most that Morgase disappeared after some confusion in Caemlyn, and she is believed to be dead. Actually, though, she is currently a "guest" of the Whitecloaks in Amador. It is uncertain what will happen to Morgase, but Rand al’Thor seems to be holding the throne of Andor to hand over to her daughter Elayne.
