Message Board Tips
The message boards at wotmania are among the best places to get to know others at the site. They are also among the most common spots to give a bad impression of yourself with poor etiquette... Here are a few tips to help you fit into the community and avoid aggravating the very people you want to become friendly with...
Read the message board before you post.
Sounds like common sense, doesn't it? Unfortunately, it usually isn't. There are a number of topics that have been discussed to death on the message boards at wotmania. As an example, it has been proposed roughly 482,193 times that Mat will invent gun powder. We all realize this. Posting it again only lets other people realize that you never took the time, or had the common courtesy, to figure out what people have already discussed to the point of exhaustion. Take a few minutes to look over the message board, and get a feel for what people have (and haven't) already talked about a great deal.

Do you really need to post a new message?
One thing that drives me (and plenty of others) insane are folks who post a new message to promote a different message they posted earlier. Something like, "Hey, did everyone see my message where I talked about my toenail clippings?" If people aren't responding to something you posted, it could just be that people didn't find that particular post interesting enough to inspire them to respond. Deal with it, and let the message drop off the message board in peace. Promoting an older message is poor etiquette, and will probably only encourage others to ignore posts you make in the future.

Consolidate your posts.
Sometimes I am gone for wotmania for a few days. I return to find hundreds of new threads on the message board. Nothing bugs me more than seeing a bunch of posts in a row all by the same person that have one joke in each thread - and I know that if something annoys me, it probably annoys just about everyone else, too... Take all your jokes (or forwards, or whatever), and put them into one message if you want to share them all with the wotmania community. It will probably encourage more people to respond, and it will definitely show that you understand the concept of common courtesy.
