Logain Ablar

Much like Mazrim Taim, Logain Ablar named himself the Dragon Reborn. Logain could channel the One Power, and he was strong in saidin. Like other false Dragons, thousands flocked to the banner that Logain raised. He carried war across Ghealdan, Altara, and Murandy before he was captured by Aes Sedai.

Logain was taken to the White Tower and gentled. Like all men who are gentled, Logain lost the will to live. During the chaos created by the stilling of Siuan Sanche, Logain escaped from the Tower.

He later fell in with Sanche and the rebel Aes Sedai of Salidar. When Nynaeve al’Meara began to study him to see how he had been gentled, Logain had no objections. He also had little hope. Like everyone else, he was surprised when Nynaeve actually succeeded in Healing him.

The Salidar Aes Sedai naturally had to guard Logain, as he could again touch saidin . However, he once again escaped his Aes Sedai captors. He is now at the Black Tower, protected by the amnesty for men who can channel.

Logain also has a Talent unique among the Asha’man, but known among Aes Sedai. He is able to see ta’veren. He picked out Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, from a huge crowd while he was being presented in Caemlyn.

Much about Logain’s future is uncertain. It is unclear how Logain and Taim will get along - both are strong in the Power and have powerful personalities. One thing about Logain is a surety, however. There is glory and honor in Logain’s future. This was predicted by Elmindreda Farshaw, and Min’s viewings never fail.
