Since Tarmon Gaidon:
This RPG began roughly 50 years after Tarmon Gaidon, so some of the original characters are dead. Rand is dead, he died while trapping the Dark One with what he thought was a perfectly synchronous weave of both saidin and saidar. The Dark One is in fact still only partly trapped in his man-made prison. This leaves the taint intact, but it is slowly fading away as the Dark One cannot maintain it without the Seals. The Blight has receded many hundreds of miles past the Mountains of Dhoom, which had let Lan become King of Malkier once more, with Nynaeve as his Queen, of course. Lan is dead, however, and Nynaeve lives on (being Aes Sedai) as the widowed Lady of the Seven Towers.
With Rand dead, the Aiel have split into two giant clans: the conglomerate of the Shaido and the Brotherless (the deserters from their clans) lead by Sevanna's son; and the "good" Aiel lead by Rhuarc's son. The Shaido rallied together and drove the rest of the Aiel back into the Waste while they took Cairhien. Elayne gave up Cairhien to the Shaido in exchange for peace with Andor, of which she is the current queen. Mat's Band of the Red Hand remains even though he is dead, of old age. They are an army for hire against the forces of the Shadow, working mainly in the Borderlands. The Whitecloaks have totally disbanded, although a small segment remains as a part of the Black Tower's army of non-channelers.
The White Tower is now whole, with Elaida dead from the depression of stilling. Egwene stepped down after Tarmon Gai'don, but not before removing the three oaths and disbanding the Red Ajah. A current Amyrlin has not been selected. Egwene now lives in the Two Rivers. Aviendha is reported missing; she could be anywhere. . .
The Seanchan continent was completely destroyed when an insane Asha'man stole the ter'angreal link to the largest male sa'angreal in the world. No one knows why, but he traveled to Seanchan and in the process of annihilating the continent he killed Semirhage and Demandred. The Seanchan now reside in their conquered lands on the main continent: Altara, Amadicia and Tarabon. There is constant tension between the Seanchan and the rest of the people living on the main continent.
The remaining free lands have a loose alliance that holds them together against the constant threat of the diminishing Blight, the Shaido and the Seanchan. The Sharans have stayed in their lands, still the mysterious and secluded hermits to the people of the main continent. The Land of Madmen is still mostly unknown, although the increasing number of Sea Folk living in their sections of the cities have started to spread tales of the uncivilized land.
The Ogier continue to be secluded in their stedding, but since the Last Battle was "won" they have become more amicable and are a more common sight. They are no longer considered mere tales to the folk who live on the fringes of society.
The Forsaken are all assumed dead; as anyone missing after the Last Battle was. . . Also missing are the two links to the great sa'angreal. The female link was lost in the aftermath of Tarmon Gai'don, but the male link was only lost recently when the aforementioned insane Asha'man destroyed Seanchan. Callandor is also gone, assumed to be destroyed in the Last Battle, the last time it was seen.
Since RPing Has Begun:
Since people have started RPing at Legacy, a lot of things have changed, or new elements have been introduced. The Whitecloaks reside in Anton, which was formerly known as Falme. The Shaido have waged war on both (then seperate) Towers, although only really "defeated" at Tar Valon. Their numbers have diminished since that particular episode. This was all done while the site was known as Mashy's.
Since The Legacy of Chaos name came on the sceen there have been even more changes. There has been a false Callandor made and hidden again. Mantheren is again a desolate place that has become a safe haven for the Dark One's minions. Andor lost their beloved Elayne, murdered by her Daughter Heir, who was then murdered by her cousin. That girl, semi tower trained now sits on the throne. There seems to be an uneasy peace over the land, except for Mayene is still fighting Tear who is still fighting Illian.. some things never change. The biggest change that has shaken the boards is that the two towers have combined. The White and Black Towers now reside in the same place. Tar Valon is now the center of all channeling activity.
Nothing else of real consequence. . . Although any veterans of Legacy can e-mail me if I missed something.
