Quote of the Moment
They killed Mother! I saw them! I might have saved her, if I had a sword. I could have saved her!

Leane Sharif

Leane Sharif began life much like most other young girls from Arad Doman. From a young age she began to learn the art of seduction, and was prepared to eventually take over the family’s trading business. All that changed, though, when it was learned she had the ability to channel the One Power.

Leane came to the White Tower and rose to prominence, eventually choosing the Blue Ajah when she became a full Aes Sedai. When Siuan Sanche ascended to the Amyrlin Seat, she chose Leane as her Keeper of the Chronicles. This meant Leane was one of the most powerful women in the world, second in the White Tower only to Siuan herself.

But when Sanche’s involvement with Rand al’Thor was discovered, Leane fell from power with her. Both women were stilled and sent to the dungeon. Undoubtedly they would serve as an example to future novices of what could happen to women who did not act in the best interest of the Tower.

After being rescued from the dungeon by Min Farshaw, Siuan and Leane sought out the group of Aes Sedai who opposed Elaida a'Roihan. Leane rediscovered her Domani heritage through the course of this journey, once again learning the joy of seducing men. Leane and Siuan found the rebels in Salidar, and strove to gain a position of prominence with these Aes Sedai. It was difficult, though, as most of these sisters were uncomfortable around two women who had been stilled.

It was Nynaeve al’Meara who Healed Leane and allowed her to touch saidar again. When her ability to channel returned, Leane was raised an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah.
