Temporary Internet Cookie Instructions
wotmania makes wide use of temporary Internet cookies to log you into the site, and to run things like the QuickPoll. If you have temporary Internet cookies turned off, certain parts of wotmania won't work.
This is mostly a problem with IE6 (which is why I'm writing the instructions for IE6), but it can happen with other browsers, too. Below are some steps to turn on temporary Internet cookies. They're harmless, they let a website keep track of you for the length of your stay at the website - nothing is ever stored on your computer.
- Click on "Tools" on the IE menu.
- Click on the "Internet Options" menu choice.
- This will open up a new box. Click on the "Privacy" tab.
- Click the "Edit" button.
- There is a spot where you can type in a website address, immediately below the words "Address of Web site:". Type 35.10.40.62 in that box and push the "Allow" button.
- Hit the "OK" button and you should be set.
Other Browsers
While this is usually an IE6 problem, it does happen with other versions of other browsers. Your best bet is to look for a menu of "Internet Options" or something similar. Enabling/disabling temporary Internet cookies is usually one of the options, and all you need to do is enable them.
