Gareth Bryne
Gareth Bryne of Andor was respected as one of the greatest generals alive. He served under three different queens as the Captain-General of the Queen’s Guards. Andor’s strength is due in large part to Bryne, a strong and hard commander. Gareth and Queen Morgase Trakand were close, and he was one of the few men who could match her strength of will. Morgase never commanded Bryne, simply made requests or suggestions. But that all changed when Rahvin came to Andor. Calling himself Gaebril, he used Compulsion on Morgase to rule Andor from behind the throne. Bryne’s presence was a complication Rahvin did not desire, and Bryne was forced to retire to his estates. Since then, Gareth Bryne has fallen in with the rebel Aes Sedai of Salidar. He has been commissioned to build and train an army to take back the White Tower. Bryne has privately sworn to follow Egwene al’Vere, the Amyrlin Seat of the rebel Aes Sedai. He recognizes her power and determination and will do as she desires, as opposed to what the Hall might request. Bryne has done an excellent job for the Salidar Aes Sedai. The army he built now marches toward Tar Valon and what will most likely be a bloody confrontation. After that, there is no telling what the future may hold for Gareth Bryne.
